I asked a question not long ago to someone using the term "non-white non-black woman of color"...I asked what is that? The non-white female I asked it to told me I should know.
Where does all this kind of language come from? If the person is non-white does one need to also say that the person is a "person of color"? And why add "non-black"? _________________ What is the reason YOU were born into a SYSTEM of INJUSTICE if not to replace it with a SYSTEM of JUSTICE? |

That's interesting. It's like she has a different understanding in her mind for what a "black person" is versus a "person of color". It's similar to people who use the term "black and brown people" when all so-called black people are brown skinned. Lack of understanding of how words work, I suspect is where it comes from. _________________ One drop of truth can taint a SEA full of lies |

You could be correct about that. I view it as short-sightedness. When non-white people focus on ending the worldwide system of racism (white supremacy) without replacing it with a worldwide system of justice. When doing so, being black or non-black or half black or a quarter white or two thirds Indian, etc. will mean something. But in a worldwide system of justice being black won't mean a thing because all people will be universal people.
The use of words is very important. It not only expresses your current views. It also guides you toward your future position.
Do you think this is plausible? _________________ What is the reason YOU were born into a SYSTEM of INJUSTICE if not to replace it with a SYSTEM of JUSTICE? |

What I don't think many people realize is that Counter-Racism language is a language just like the Japanese language or the Mandarin language or any other language. It looks like the English language but when you use it correctly white people will tell you that what you are saying is not English. I have been told that by white people when only using the terms "racism" and "white supremacy" together (racism white supremacy). And when told that it is not English the white people also told me to stop saying that. In essence the preciseness of the use of Counter-Racism language taking its toll on the deception.

Yes I agree. Short-term thinking is definitely an issue. I've ran experiments where I would engage a non-white person in a racial discussion and took note of how many words are used by the non-white to describe the race problem and how many words are used to describe countering the problem
and in virtually every instance, much more time was spent on the former versus the latter, sometimes by a wide margin. I suspect the white supremacists do everything they can to train non-white people to spend as little time as possible in "problem solving mode".

Yep, I've had people tell me that they haven't heard anyone "talk like that" before. Sometimes white people will ask me to substitute a counter-racist term or rephrase a counter-racist sentence into a term or phrase that supports racist logic.
For example, I once used the term "sexually confused" to describe persons that engaged in so-called "homosexual" and "Transgender" activity, a White female then responded by stating that calling those people "confused" was "insensitive" and that "gender non-conforming" was the more appropriate term. When I refused to adopt her suggestion and continue using the counter-racist compensatory phrase, she then attempted to get the non-white people in the forum to discredit me. That's one of many instances where I'm reminded of how powerful words are. _________________ One drop of truth can taint a SEA full of lies |
