Any vehicle for communication.
There is no such thing as "the media". This is a confusing term used by people and promoted by white supremacists (racists) to take focus off people in general and specifically the white supremacists (racists) themselves.

This word can and should be used as it is being used right now in all conversations. The objective of a definition that reveals truth is that the user of the word or the hearer of the word is able to understand what is goinbg on around them.
As the word "media" is currently used people generally mean something that doesn't exist, when they are referring to "the media". There is no "the media". "Media" generally means any vehicle for comminucation of any form of communication whether it is two people talking to each other, something someone has written, something someone is reading, an audio presentation on some kind, a video presentation of some kind, this work/study project, etc...all of these things can and should be referred to as "media".
The white supremacists (racists) support mystery among non-white people because it causes confusion. When someone uses the term "the media", meaning the one and only media, the picture in the minds of non-white people is such that no one has any evidence of who is being referred to. In terms of people interaction, saying and doing is media.
The objective for the counter-racist definition is to maintain clarity in the minds of the individual. When someone says, for example, "the media says he committed the crime". The individual that has a clear definition of what "media" means can then ask "who actually said he committed the crime"...because the person understand that "media" is a just vehicle for communication.
The clairy of what is being said and what is being done is what white people who practice white supremacy (racism) do not want their victims to have so it is up to the victims of racism (white supremacy) to use words in accordance with truth to produce clarity.

Should this word be used? |
If you deem it necessary to use it...but a person should know how to think about what is being stated even if someone else uses the word.
