Im creating a compensatory counter racist definition of this term based on some recently analyzed data. Specifically a news report detailing the dificulties musicians who produce, create and/or perform "world Music" are having in the area of people activity known as traveling.

Here is my definition:

WORLD MUSIC: Pronunciation Key

Constructive sounds created and/or produced by non white people.

Peer review please.

Quote:
Song: I Get Out
Artist: Lauren Hill
Album: MTV UN-Plugged

I get out
I get out of all your boxes
I'll get out, you can't hold me in these chains
I get out
Father free me from this bondage
Knowing my condition is the reason I must change
Your stinking resolution is no type of solution
Preventing me from freedom
Maintaining your pollution

I won't support your lie no more
I won't even try no more
Oh If I have to die oh lord that's how I choose to live
I won't be compromised no more
I can't be victimized no more
I just don't sympathize no more
Cause now I understand you just want to use me
You say love, then abuse me
You never thought you'd lose me
But how quickly we forget
That nothing is for certain
You thought I'd stay here hurtin
Your guilt trips just not working
Repressing me to death
Cause now I'm choosing life yo
I'll take the sacrifice yo
If everything must go then go
That's how I chose to live

No more comprises
I see past your disguises
Blinding me through mind control
Stealing my eternal soul

Appealing through material
Oh just to keep me as your slave
But I get out, oh I get out of all of your boxes I get out
Oh you can't hold me in these chains, I'll get out
Of this social pergutory
Knowing my condition is the reason I must change
See what you see is what you get
And oh, you ain't seen nothing yet
Oh, I don't care if you're upset
I could care less if you're upset
see it don't change the truth
And your hurt feelings no excuse
To keep me in this box
Psychological locks
Repressing true expression
Cementing this repression
Promoting mass deception
So that no one can be healed
I don't respect your system
I won't protect your system

When you talk I don't listen
Oh let my Fathers will be done
And just get out,
Oh just get out of all this bondage
Just get out, oh you can't hold me in these chains
Just get out
These traditions killing freedom
Knowing my condition is the reason I must change
I just accepted what you said
Keeping me amongst the dead
The only way to know
Is to walk then learn then grow
But faith is not your speed
You'd have everyone believe
That you're the sole authority
Just follow the majority

Afraid to face reality
This system is a joke
You'd be smart to save your soul
And escape this mind control
You spend your life in sacrifice
To a system for the dead
Where's the passion in this living
Are you sure it's God you're serving
Obligated to a system
Getting less than you're deserving
Who made up these rules I say
Who made up these schools I say
Animal conditioning just to keep us as a slave

Oh just get out of this social purgatory
Just get out
These traditions are a lie- just get out
Superstition killing freedom,
knowing my condition is the reason I must die
Just get out, just get out, just get out, lets get out, lets get out,
Knowing my condition is the reason I must die.

Music not noise...

I think music is any sound plus design that will help you to think constructively. If that is true world music could be any sound plus design that helps you to think constructively that is produced anywhere and/or at anytime on this planet.

I could be incorrect.

Maybe Im over engineering; many people already assume "world music" is ethnic music, I guess because most of the people in the world are non white.

This article I've fount about her album is very interesting...

http://www.rollingstone.com/features/coverstory/featuregen.asp?pid=1996

Quote:
"So what caused the Lauryn Hill of Miseducation, viewed as regal and brilliant, to morph into the Lauryn Hill of Unplugged, seen as possibly unstable, and then into someone willfully absent from the public? Confidential conversations with more than twenty friends and industry figures and a lengthy interview with Pras have clarified much of what has happened during the five years since her zenith. "I don't think she's crazy," Pras says. "People tend to say that when they don't understand what someone's going through. Walk in her shoes, and see what would you do..."

I've fount counter-racism/white supremacy science tends to make one "seem" crazy... that is only because "most" victims of racism only know how to function inside a box... anything else is termed as "crazy".

"I'm reminded of when my brothers comes to visit. I constanly reminded them of only discussing or doing constructive "things"... and addressing that I don't wish to hang around "niggas". To them my behavior is crazy... but to me, it's progress."

Oh... Laruen Hill to "me" is deeply codified in making music not noise, to have "you" Double think.

Song: Mr. Intentional

Yeah…Yeah…Yeah…Yeah…You see the road to hell is paved with good intentions/
Can't you tell the way they have to mention/
How they helped you out, you're such a hopeless victim/
Please don't do me any favors, Mr. Intentional.

All their talk is seasoned to perfection/
The road they walk commanding your affection/
They need to be needed, deceived by motivation, an opportunity to further situation/
Why they're so important is without explanation/
Please don't patronize me
, Mr. Intentional…Oh…

We give rise to ego, by being insecure/
The advice that we go desperately searching for/
the subconscious effort to support our paramour/
Too engaged in denial, to admit we're immature/
Validating lies, Mr. Intentional…Oh…

Open up your eyes, Mr. Intentional…

Stuck in a system that seeks to suck your blood/
Held emotionally hostage by what everybody does/
Counting all the money that you give them just because/
Exploiting ignorance in the name of love
/
Stop before you drop because that's just the way it was/Please don't justify me, Mr. Intentional/
So one-dimensional, Mr. Intentional

Don't you do me any favors

Wake up you've been sleeping, take up your bed and walk/
Stop blaming other people, it's nobody else's fault/
Accept the truth about you/
You know that life goes on without you and Your expensive misinventions, disguising your intentions/
Don't worship my hurt feelings, Mr. Intentional

See I know you can't help me, Mr. Intentional/
The only help I need to live is unprofessional/
The only wealth I have to give is not material/
And if you need much more than that - I'm not available

Please don't entertain me, Mr. Intentional/
I don't need your sympathy, Mr. Intentional/
Stay away from me, Mr. Intentional/
So one-dimensional, Mr. Promotional, Mr. Emotional, Mr. Intentional…

Man everytime I hear this sistah, I'm dayum near in tears... this sh_t is so correct.

I also love the ending of this song, she says "If anyone have any suggest (for the title of any of her songs), just raise your hands."

I have refined my definition of music and it is as follows:

Music:

(1) Any sound plus design that results in the revelation of truth, and/or, the use of truth in the promotion of justice and correctness in all places and at all times.
